US President Donald Trump is discussing with advisers the possibility of withdrawing some American troops from Europe amid deteriorating relations with NATO allies. According to a senior White House official, Trump is dissatisfied with the insufficient support of allies on the issue of security in the Strait of Hormuz, as well as the lack of progress on his idea of acquiring Greenland. At the same time, the White House has not yet instructed the Pentagon to develop specific plans for reducing the contingent.

Currently, more than 80,000 American troops are stationed in Europe, including more than 30,000 in Germany. Significant forces are also in Italy, Great Britain, and Spain.
