Donald Trump believes he will set a deadline for Putin regarding a ceasefire in Ukraine. He denied rejecting the US proposal and emphasized the many sanctions against Russia.

US President Donald Trump did not give Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin a deadline to agree to a ceasefire with Ukraine. But he suggested that such a deadline for the president of the aggressor country may be in the future. This is reported by NBC News, reports UNN.

Details

This is how the American leader answered questions from the media about the possible time frame for Putin to agree to end the attacks as part of Trump's attempts to end the Russian-Ukrainian war.

At the same time, the head of the White House expressed confidence that an agreement will be reached.

There was no deadline. But I think we'll have one

- said Donald Trump.

According to him, "they are trying very hard now, as you probably saw both of them, but I think we will do it quite soon."

It is noted that the US President denied allegations that Putin in a recent telephone conversation with him rejected Washington's proposal, previously agreed with Kyiv, regarding a 30-day ceasefire on the entire theater of operations between Ukraine and Russia.

The head of the White House said that the Russian dictator "did not reject anything" and added that there are "very many sanctions" against Russia, "probably they have more sanctions than anyone else."

According to NBC News, the US president expressed confidence that the Russian war against Ukraine will inevitably end, despite the fact that Putin has not yet agreed to a ceasefire proposal, partially agreed by the US.

Today we had some good talks, and maybe we can stop the march of death as soon as possible

- said the US President.

"It is unclear what specific talks Trump was referring to, but earlier this week he spoke with both Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky," the statement said.

Reminder

On March 18, during a telephone conversation, Trump and Putin stressed the need for peace in Ukraine, a ceasefire and improved relations between the United States and Russia.

The United States stated that the technical negotiations in Saudi Arabia will focus on security issues. Peace talks are possible only after a ceasefire is reached.
