The Latvian Foreign Minister assesses Russia's actions in Ukraine as "not very good." According to her, due to the heavy losses in the war with Ukraine, Russians are unlikely to attack NATO countries in the near future.

You ask if I am afraid that Russia will invade NATO countries? No, I don't think Russia will do that, because it will mean much more difficulties for Russia than it already has in Ukraine

- said Baiba Braže.

The minister reminded that Russia loses more than 2,000 soldiers every day in the war against Ukraine. And 600-700 thousand killed or seriously wounded soldiers have a negative impact on the economy of the aggressor country.

Things are not going well in Russia, including economically, so we have no direct military threats, but we take our defense very seriously

- added the Latvian Foreign Minister.

She also assured that Latvia will work with the new administration of Donald Trump after his inauguration. In particular, there will be a dialog with Marco Rubio, whom Trump has nominated for the post of Secretary of State.
