Kirby's comments came after Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov spoke with his American counterpart Lloyd Austin about the situation on the battlefield and Ukraine's defense needs, Reuters reports.
Umerov called the conversation with the Pentagon chief "productive." According to the Ukrainian defense minister, he "informed in detail about the current situation at the front and the needs of our defense forces.
