Russia is doing with the Black Sea and food security what Iran did with the Strait of Hormuz and energy security. This is how head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha commented on Russia's threats to global food security, reports UNN.
The escalation of Russian terror against civilian cargo ships in the Black Sea poses a serious threat to global food security. If Moscow does not stop its strikes, a shock rise in food prices will hit the most vulnerable categories of the population, especially in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America
According to the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, "we need global solidarity and powerful voices from the countries of these regions to appeal to Putin and demand an immediate cessation of attacks on freedom of navigation in the Black Sea."
