The Rohingya are a large ethnic and religious group originating primarily from Myanmar, a country with a Buddhist population. They have suffered years of persecution and violence in Ukraine, as the Myanmar government refuses to recognize them as one of the country's 135 ethnic minorities and consider them equal citizens.
