A UAV strike on the Kharkiv zoo killed 10 rabbits and damaged enclosures. An elephant suffered stress; the prosecutor's office has launched an investigation into the commission of a war crime.

The Russian army attacked a zoo in Kharkiv, preliminary reports suggest with a "Geran" drone, killing 10 rabbits. This was reported by the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, which added that proceedings have been opened regarding the commission of a war crime, UNN reports.

According to the investigation, on June 15, at approximately 6:05 PM, a UAV (preliminarily identified as a "Geran-2" type) struck the territory of the zoo in Kharkiv.
As a result of the enemy attack, the window glazing and the facade of the "Vivarium" enclosure, which housed 150 rabbits, 250 guinea pigs, 700 rats, and 250 mice at the time of the strike, were damaged. It has been preliminarily established that 10 rabbits were killed and another 15 were injured.

The glazing and facade of the elephant enclosure, located near the impact site, were also damaged. The animal suffered an acute stress reaction.
No information regarding civilian casualties has been received.
Under the procedural guidance of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation has been launched into the commission of a war crime (Art. 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
