Russians have significantly intensified their attacks on Sumy region, launching 83 attacks, including 6 missile and 11 air strikes per day, and evacuating residents of border settlements in the region.

The number of enemy attacks in Sumy region has significantly increased, the enemy has started using aviation and MLRS more often.  Russian military fired 83 times at the region yesterday, including 6 missile attacks.  Evacuation from the border communities continues. The head of the Sumy regional military administration Volodymyr Artyukh said this during a national marathon, UNN reports with reference to the RMA.

According to Artyukh, 83 attacks (486 explosions) were recorded over the past day. There were 6 rocket attacks, 11 air strikes, 8 MLRS volleys, and artillery and mortar attacks.

The enemy shelled 46 settlements in 16 territorial communities of the region. In particular, the village of Velyka Pysarivka was shelled with bombs. The cities of Sumy, Konotop, and Okhtyrka were hit by missiles.

Unfortunately, compared to the previous week, the number of attacks has increased significantly - the use of tactical aircraft and multiple rocket launchers has increased. Velyka Pysarivka suffers the most from shelling

- Volodymyr Artyukh noted.

He also said that 285 people have been evacuated from the Velykopysarivska community since March 13.

On March 13, the relevant evacuation commission of the Okhtyrka district decided to put the evacuation plan in place in the Velykopysarivska community. Since then, we have evacuated 285 people, including 26 children. Evacuation measures are ongoing

- said the head of the RMA.

He noted that the evacuation from the 5-kilometer zone, including in the Velykopysarivska community in Sumy region, took place in the summer of 2023.  At that time, more than 600 people were evacuated from 7 settlements of the community.

"There are actually few people left there who, unfortunately, were unable to leave these settlements in time due to intense shelling. Together with Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk, we have now practically worked out measures to evacuate children and the elderly to the western regions. And this plan is already coming into effect. People have agreed to move to safer places" , said Volodymyr Artyukh

Artyukh  also urged not to succumb to panic, not to spread hostile information that Sumy region is without protection.

The Armed Forces are ready to fight back and take care of the safety of citizens. Sumy region was and is the northern outpost of Ukraine

- summarized the head of the RMA.

Earlier it was reported that due to the significant intensification of shelling in Sumy region, all children were taken out of the village Velyka Pysarivka, which is constantly under fire from the occupiers.
