Russia attacked five Naftogaz facilities in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions. The operation of damaged equipment has been halted due to fires and destruction.

Over the past day, May 3, Russian troops attacked five infrastructure facilities of the Naftogaz Group in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions. There is damage to equipment at the facilities and fires broke out, UNN reports, citing a statement by the Chairman of the Board of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, Sergiy Koretsky.

According to Koretsky, due to the consequences of the attacks, the company had to temporarily suspend production processes at the damaged facilities.

Currently, specialists from the State Emergency Service and the Naftogaz Group are working on-site. They are doing everything necessary to eliminate the consequences of the Russian attacks and stabilize the situation at the facilities.
Context
Russian troops regularly attack Ukraine's energy and infrastructure systems, including gas production, transportation, and energy supply facilities. Such strikes create risks for the operation of production capacities and require an immediate response from emergency services and specialized experts.

Since the beginning of May 2024, Russian occupiers damaged a gas production facility in the Kharkiv region and blew up a gas pipeline in the Zaporizhzhia region.
