In 2022, Russian troops retreating from Kherson kidnapped 48 children under the age of three. This was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, UNN reports.

Details

"Two years ago, the Russians kidnapped 48 children while retreating. None of them was even three years old. Most of these children were forcibly moved deep into the occupied territory - to Crimea, and the rest were deported to Russia.

Ukrainian children are not toys, although it seems that for Russian rich people and officials they are.

Behind each of these children is a life that should not be lost. A fate that should not be lost. We must do everything we can to bring Ukrainian children back home. I am grateful to the partners who work with us in this direction and help us," Zelensky said in a post on Telegram.

Recall

Earlier, UNN wrotethat as of June 2024, Russia had abducted 20 thousand Ukrainian children, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
