Reaching a peace agreement between the US and Iran will take several months - Bloomberg

According to representatives of the Persian Gulf and European countries, the process of concluding a full-fledged peace agreement between the United States and Iran will take several months. But for this, the parties to the conflict must extend the truce for this period, UNN reports with reference to Bloomberg.

Details

Representatives of European and Persian Gulf countries stated that the vital Strait of Hormuz must be immediately opened to restore energy flows, otherwise a global food crisis could arise.

They also noted that energy prices are likely to rise even further if the US-Israel war against Iran continues longer. Against the backdrop of this news, Brent crude continued to rise, gaining approximately 4.5% in a day to over $99 per barrel.

At the same time, representatives of the Persian Gulf countries believe that Iran seeks to create nuclear weapons - this opinion has not changed after the country was bombed by the US and Israel. Therefore, officials of the Persian Gulf countries believe that a peace agreement should prohibit Iran from enriching uranium or possessing long-range ballistic missiles, the publication states.

In addition, leaders of the Persian Gulf countries oppose any return to hostilities and want the US to continue diplomatic negotiations with Iran.

Additionally

According to Bloomberg, Washington and Tehran are considering extending the truce for two weeks. This would give them more time to negotiate a peace agreement.

Recall

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi stated that passage through the Strait of Hormuz is open during the ceasefire.
