Poland is ready to shoot down Russian missiles over its territory, but "under certain conditions," Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysh said in an interview with the Voice of America, UNN reports.
We have prepared an air defense system, we also have reinforced air defense. We are talking about the Rzeszów airport, which is being transferred to NATO protection. Our allies America, Britain, Germany, Norway and other countries are protecting us at the air base. And if this airspace is violated, a missile or drone will be shot down
He noted that it is a different situation when it comes to shooting down targets over Ukrainian territory. He emphasized that there is no single NATO decision on this. And he emphasized that Poland will defend its territory.
Very often we put our F-16s on alert to act accordingly if there is a danger to Poland to protect our territory." There was no such case where the missile was aimed at a target on Polish territory, but yes, last week Polish F-16s took off and were ready to defend the territory near the border,
