As MP Rostyslav Tistyk noted, "the reburial of the remains of the OUN leader, Colonel of the UNR Army Andriy Melnyk and his wife Sofia at the National Military Memorial Cemetery has been completed."
"This is the first crucial step in the process of creating the Pantheon of Outstanding Ukrainians — as a symbol of the centuries-old struggle for the freedom and independence of Ukraine. Similar decisions are already being prepared regarding Colonel Yevhen Konovalets and other iconic historical figures who dedicated their lives to the struggle for Ukraine and will finally be able to find peace in their native land, for which they fought so heroically during their lives," the MP stated on social media.
As seen in the footage from the scene released online, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the head of the DIU Kyrylo Budanov took part in the ceremony.
