North Korea launches an unidentified ballistic missile toward the East Sea, the first such launch since testing a new hypersonic missile.

On Monday, April 22, North Korea launched an unidentified ballistic missile toward the Sea of Japan. This was reported by Yonhap with reference to the South Korean military, UNN reports .

Details

The South Korean military has not yet provided details and promised to make the information public after analyzing the intelligence received.

According to Japanese media, the Ministry of Defense of Japan confirmed the launch by the DPRK of a ballistic missile, which fell into the Sea of Japan outside Japan's exclusive economic zone.

It is noted that this is the first launch of a ballistic missile by the DPRK after the test of a new medium-range ballistic missile with a hypersonic warhead.
