The National Bank of Ukraine has issued a 2-hryvnia coin to mark the 100th anniversary of Symon Petliura Memorial Day. The mintage is 50,000 pieces, and sales will begin on May 26.

The National Bank of Ukraine has put into circulation a new commemorative coin, "100th Anniversary of the Memorial Day of Symon Petliura." This was reported by UNN.
Details
It is noted that the commemorative coin has a face value of 2 hryvnias. The obverse features a stylized portrait of Symon Petliura on a mirrored background, with an element of a patch from his tunic in the form of a branch on the left.
The reverse features an artistic composition with elements of the symbols of the UNR (Ukrainian People's Republic). In the center is a trident (an image of a sleeve insignia of the 1919 model), surrounded by the inscription "100th Anniversary of the Memorial Day of Symon Petliura" and a wreath from a decree by Symon Petliura with the inscription "UNR".
"Have we gained anything for Ukraine through our struggle? Yes, our struggle will be written in the history of the Ukrainian people in golden letters. ... Through struggle, stubborn and uncompromising, we have shown the world that Ukraine exists, that its people live and fight for their right, for their freedom and state independence,"
They recalled that this year marks exactly one hundred years since the day of his death from the bullet of a Bolshevik agent.
"The coin was released with a mintage of up to 50,000 pieces in souvenir packaging. The commemorative coin will be available for purchase starting May 26 at the NBU's online numismatic store and from distributor banks," the statement said.
