The Brovary City District Court sentenced a man who threw a grenade at a law enforcement officer in Brovary, Kyiv region, in May to 9 years and 2 months in prison. This was reported by the National Police of Ukraine, UNN reports.

As law enforcement officers remind, on May 11, around 21:00, in the city of Brovary, police officers received a call about hooliganism from an unknown person.
"When they arrived at the specified address, the offender ran away, the policeman began to pursue him, then man threw a grenade in the direction of the law enforcement officer. As a result of the explosion, the police officer and the offender were injured. The 37-year-old law enforcement officer sustained injuries to his legs and left arm. He is still being treated," law enforcement officials said.
Investigators served a notice of suspicion in committing crimes stipulated by Part 1 Article 348 and Part 1 Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
