Law enforcers catch about 70 people in arson attacks on military vehicles

Since the beginning of the year, 59 cases of arson attacks on military vehicles have been solved in Ukraine and 68 people have been convicted of committing these crimes. This was reported by the head of the Criminal Investigation Department of the National Police Vadym Dziubynskyi during a telethon, according to a correspondent of UNN.

So far in 2024, the National Police, together with the SBU, has solved 59 cases of arson attacks on military vehicles and convicted 68 people of these crimes,

He noted that such arsons are most often recorded in Kyiv, Odesa, Dnipro, and Kharkiv.

The arsons are committed by people of different ages, there are a certain number of people who are minors... They have only one thing in common - the desire to make quick, easy money. He also said that people are usually recruited when they are looking for work on the Internet and come across job ads through Telegram channels. Then they are contacted by anonymous administrators and offered to set a car on fire for a monetary reward.

Two juveniles were detained in Dnipropetrovs'k region for setting fire to the cars of a military man and a volunteer .

The SBU detained a repeat offender who set fire to an Armed Forces pickup truck in Rivne on the order of the FSB . The offender was planning new arsons and filming videos for Russian information operations.
