A 51-year-old man systematically raped his stepdaughter starting from the age of 10 over a period of four years. The perpetrator faces life imprisonment for his crimes.
In the Zaporizhzhia region, a 51-year-old man will stand trial for systematically raping his stepdaughter for over four years, starting when she was 10 years old. The violence occurred once or twice a week. This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General, according to UNN.
Juvenile prosecutors have submitted an indictment against the 51-year-old resident of the region to the court. According to the investigation, he raped the young child for over four years, with the violence repeated 1-2 times a week, including after the family's evacuation to one of the region's settlements.
He first raped the girl when she was 10 years old. Subsequently, throughout 2021-2025, he continued to satisfy his sexual needs, taking advantage of her defenselessness when they were left home alone or at night.
The child remained silent for years due to fear and threats. According to the investigation, the stepfather intimidated her with threats of violence and convinced her that no one would believe her.
Eventually, the girl gathered the courage to tell her older sister about what she had endured, who immediately informed law enforcement.
The perpetrator was detained in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. His actions are classified under Part 4 and Part 6 of Art. 152 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The accused is in custody without the right to bail. He faces life imprisonment.
