On March 17, at about 19:20, Poltava police reportedly received a call from citizens that shots were heard on Central Street in Poltava. Law enforcement officers arrived at the scene.
According to preliminary information from the investigation, a local 28-year-old man, while intoxicated, fired shots from an automatic weapon. Fortunately, no one was injured.
During an urgent search of the suspect's apartment, law enforcement officers found and seized more than 760 rounds of ammunition, an assault rifle, an object similar to a VOG-17 and an RPG-17. The seized weapons were sent for expert examination
Criminal proceedings were initiated under Part 4 of Article 296 (Hooliganism) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and Part 1 of Article 263 (Illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
