In Kharkiv, a 4-year-old boy died after falling from a fourth-floor window; the mother has been notified of suspicion, UNN reports with reference to the Office of the Prosecutor General.
A 29-year-old woman has been notified of suspicion for malicious failure to fulfill child care duties that resulted in grave consequences, as well as for knowingly leaving a young child in a life-threatening condition without assistance (Article 166 and Part 3 of Article 135 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

According to the investigation, on May 7, 2024, at approximately 1:20 p.m., in an apartment on Novo-Bavarskyi Avenue, a 4-year-old boy was left unattended by adults along with his younger sister. Preliminarily, the child climbed onto the windowsill, lost his balance, and fell from the fourth-floor window. The boy died from his injuries in an emergency medical vehicle.
Law enforcement officers who arrived at the scene of the tragedy entered the locked apartment during urgent investigative actions and discovered another child—a girl born in 2023. she showed signs of dehydration and was provided with medical assistance.
According to the investigation, the mother left the children home alone and went out. The woman was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
