RTX has been awarded a $478 million contract by the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) to supply additional GEM-T missiles to Germany. This contract is intended to replenish the stockpile of Patriot missiles that Germany provided to Ukraine. Denmark, the Netherlands, and Norway have also contributed to the financing of this project, demonstrating their support for Ukraine.

Our customers are already realizing the benefits of bundled multinational procurement of Patriot missiles through NSPA, including economies of scale that offer greater affordability and a pre-agreed contract structure that reduces procurement time. As a result, we can not only better sustain missile stockpiles for these European partners, but also strengthen our cooperation, their interoperability and their contribution to NATO's important mission

- said Tom Laliberti, President of Raytheon's Ground and Air Defense Systems.

NSPA Director General  Stacey A. Cummings said that the contract demonstrated the effectiveness and economic benefits of cooperation with NATO and strengthened European industrial potential.

"Thanks to close Euro-Atlantic cooperation between Allies and industry, customer nations have achieved economies of scale, reduced their logistics footprint and received effective solutions and support through a proven turnkey legal framework," she said.

Optional

The GEM-T missile, designed to defeat tactical ballistic missiles, is a key component of the Patriot Air and Missile Defense System. This system is essential for eight European countries and Ukraine in defending against cruise missiles, ballistic missiles, and enemy UAVs and aircraft. It serves as the basis for the air defense of 19 countries, demonstrating its effectiveness against modern and complex threats.
