According to Yemen's Ministry of Transport, the attack occurred on Tuesday, August 11. Three Pakistani citizens and one Indonesian national were killed aboard the Egyptian vessel "Tihama." After the attack, the crew lost control of the ship.

If the deaths of the crew members are confirmed, this would be the first fatal attack by the Houthis on vessels since the beginning of the war with Iran on February 28. The Houthis themselves have not yet claimed responsibility for the attack. During an attempt to rescue the crew, three Yemeni coast guards were injured in a drone attack.
