Czech Republic to receive a dozen Leopard 2A4 tanks from Germany as compensation for deliveries to Ukraine

The Czech Republic will receive 14 Leopard 2A4 tanks and a repair and recovery vehicle from Germany as compensation for the supply of weapons to Ukraine. The first tanks will arrive at the end of 2024, and the last ones - by the end of 2026.
The Czech Ministry of Defense has signed documents on receiving 14 Leopard 2A4 tanks and one Büffel 3 armored repair and recovery vehicle on the Leopard 2A4 chassis as a gift from Germany. The equipment is a compensation for Czech arms supplies to Ukraine, UNN reports with reference to Radio Prague.
Details
The first German Leopard 2A4s will be delivered to the Czech Republic at the end of 2024, and the last ones by the end of 2026. Earlier, in 2022-23, the Czech Armed Forces had already received similar compensation totaling about 154 million euros.
It is also reported that the Czech Ministry of Defense is currently negotiating the purchase of 15 more tanks of the same modification from Germany for its army . As a result, the Czech army may end up with 42 Leopard 2A4 tanks and 3 repair and recovery vehicles.
