An attacker, a native of Russia, killed six people and wounded 14 more in the capital. Police and the SBU are studying the details of the criminal's biography and versions of the tragedy.

The attacker who carried out the shooting in Kyiv set fire to an apartment before the attack, had a previous criminal record, and was born in Russia. The attack killed six people and injured 14 others; four hostages were rescued, and an investigation into the circumstances of the tragedy is underway. Investigators from the National Police and the SBU are currently investigating all circumstances of the attack on ordinary people in Kyiv. The attacker was neutralized. He held hostages and, unfortunately, killed one of them. He killed four people directly on the street. Another woman died in the hospital from severe injuries. My condolences to the families and loved ones of the deceased.
Zelenskyy noted that four hostages were rescued. As of now, 14 people are known to have been injured. Unfortunately, this number may increase as people are still seeking help. Among the injured is a 12-year-old boy. Doctors are providing necessary assistance. We wish the injured a speedy recovery.
It is also known that the attacker set fire to an apartment before going out with a weapon. He had previously been prosecuted for criminal offenses. He lived in Donetsk region for a long time and was born in Russia.

In the Holosiivskyi district of the capital, an unknown person opened fire on people, resulting in one death and several injuries. Later, law enforcement officers reported that the assailant was killed during a special operation.
UNN also reported that among the victims of the shooting in Kyiv's Holosiivskyi district was an entire family: a 10-year-old boy and his father were killed on the spot, and the 30-year-old mother died in the hospital.
