"Because of you, the West, this war started": a conflict over Russian music erupted in Drohobych, police launched an investigation

In Drohobych, Lviv region, a conflict arose between locals and a group of people who identified themselves as being from Donbas. The reason was the playing of Russian music. A video of the incident is spreading on social media, and the police have launched an investigation, reports UNN.

Context

At the request of local residents to turn off the music, the vacationers, who introduced themselves as displaced persons from Donetsk region, began to swear rudely.

When they were reminded that a war is ongoing in Ukraine and that there is a moratorium on Russian-language content in public places, the vacationers resorted to direct accusations. They claimed that it was because of the residents of the West that the armed conflict broke out in Ukraine.

Details

As reported by the police of Lviv region, on July 25, while responding to a call, law enforcement officers recorded the incident – a dispute between citizens that arose over the playing of Russian-language songs. The situation took place in the district center.

Regarding this fact, employees of the territorial police unit are conducting an investigation, based on the results of which the event will be given a legal qualification. The identities of the conflict participants have been established
