In Poltava region, an indictment was sent to court against a couple from Kremenchuk district. The parents regularly beat their child, tied him by the neck with a rope to a table leg, and forced him to kneel for a long time on a hard surface. According to available information, in Poltava region, prosecutors from the Hlobyne District Prosecutor's Office sent an indictment to court against a couple from Kremenchuk district accused of cruel treatment of their 10-year-old son.

The investigation established that on the evening of March 2, 2026, the father struck his 10-year-old son numerous times on the head and body with his hands and feet. When the child lost consciousness, he called medics. The boy was taken to hospital with serious bodily injuries after the beating. The doctors who arrived at the call notified law enforcement officers about the incident

In addition, during the pretrial investigation, law enforcement officers also established that the child had been abused systematically.

In particular, the parents regularly beat the boy, tied him by the neck with a rope to a table leg, and forced him to stand on his knees for a long time on hard, rough surfaces. The father is accused of intentional grievous bodily harm and torture (Part 1 of Article 121 and Part 2 of Article 127 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), while the mother is accused of torture (Part 2 of Article 127 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)

The couple has currently been deprived of parental rights. The man is being held in custody, while the woman is under house arrest with restrictive measures imposed on her, including participation in a program for abusers.
