U.S. President Donald Trump stated that 200 vessels passed through the Strait of Hormuz as part of a "secret mission." According to him, it is the U.S. that controls the Strait of Hormuz, not Iran, UNN reports.

In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump wrote: "Their military is decimated, and their economy is lost. It's over for Iran!"
Claiming that more than 200 commercial vessels safely passed through this key waterway as part of a "secret mission," he added: "This incredibly successful experience was made possible because the U.S. controls the Strait of Hormuz, not Iran."
Context
The publication notes that the U.S. President has come under pressure over this waterway, which Iran effectively closed since the start of the war.
Analysts have long warned that Iran would do exactly that, but the Trump administration seemingly had no plan for such a scenario when it began strikes on February 28.
Since then, the closure of the strait has impacted economies worldwide. Today's inflation data shows that the U.S. has not escaped the consequences of this war.
