Invitation to NATO is what Ukraine deserves and partners' correction of historical mistake - president

The President said that inviting Ukraine to join NATO was a well-deserved step and a correction of a historical mistake. According to him, the only obstacle is the lack of political will of the partners.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine's invitation to NATO is what the Ukrainian state deserves and stressed that the political will of its partners is currently lacking to join the Alliance. He said this during a speech in parliament, UNN reports.
Ukraine's membership in NATO is vital for all of us. Ukraine's victory plan begins with a clause on the immediate invitation of our country to join the Alliance. The invitation is a political step, a step that does not fundamentally change the conditions for the partners and does not mean for the partners to immediately activate Article 5 of the NATO Treaty, although our people deserve it, to be honest
He emphasized that Ukrainians have been defending the collective way of life in Europe for 1000 days, the right of every European people to be free and live peacefully with their neighbors on the continent.
Ukraine will be in the Alliance if we continue to speak in unity. The whole of Ukraine as one, and this is the only way to get people to join. We have already concluded 27 bilateral security agreements with our partners, and almost all of them are NATO members, and they support Ukraine's accession to NATO. This number shows that there is nothing fundamental separating us from the Alliance, only a lack of strength, a lack of political will. By the way, not Ukrainian political will, and we will convince our partners to be bold, but only together. I am sure that we can do it together. This is not something additional or new for Ukraine. The Alliance, NATO is what we deserve. This is not a gift for us, it should be a correction of a historical mistake by our partners. What we should have done yesterday to avoid this war
