Officially, the holiday of Ukraine's capital is celebrated on the last Sunday of May. Traditionally, this day features festive concerts, exhibitions, charity fairs, sports runs, and numerous cultural events that glorify the centuries-old history and indomitable spirit of Kyiv.
Chemist's Day
A professional holiday for workers in the chemical and petrochemical industries, scientists, and students of relevant faculties, which is also fixed for the last Sunday of May.
World No Tobacco Day
Established by the World Health Organization in 1987. The main goal of the day is to draw public attention to the devastating health consequences of smoking and to urge smokers to give up the habit for at least 24 hours, or preferably forever.
World Blondes Day
An informal but popular holiday created as a response to stereotypes about blonde women. It highlights the intelligence, talents, and achievements of blondes in various fields.
World Parrot Day
An environmental holiday founded by the World Parrot Trust in 2004 to protect these intelligent birds from extinction in the wild and mistreatment in captivity.
Holy Trinity Day (Pentecost, Green Holidays)
One of the twelve most important Christian holidays. It is always celebrated on the 50th day after Easter. On this day, believers commemorate the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles.
According to tradition, churches and homes are decorated with fresh greenery, tree branches (most often linden, birch, oak) and fragrant herbs (sweet flag, mint, thyme), symbolizing the renewal of life.
