The United States has expressed interest in Poland's proposal to host a permanent American military base on its territory. This was stated by Poland's Deputy Defense Minister Cezary Tomczyk, as reported by the Associated Press and cited by UNN.

According to the official, the Polish government approved a corresponding resolution the day before, viewing it as a formal invitation to Washington.

"The Americans are interested in the Polish proposal to establish a permanent base here,"

Tomczyk said, adding that funding for the project is expected to come from both countries.

The U.S. Department of Defense, commenting on the Polish side's statement, noted that they currently have no new announcements on the matter. Meanwhile, Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz emphasized that Warsaw is doing everything possible to create such a base, but the final decision rests with the United States.
