The United States is consulting with partners on how to respond to the deployment of North Korean soldiers in Kursk region for potential involvement in hostilities against the Ukrainian military, said US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller during a briefing on November 7, UNN reports.

“We are consulting with our allies and partners on the appropriate response to the deployment of North Korean soldiers in the Kursk region for potential engagement (...) against Ukrainian soldiers, but I have no reports today,” the State Department spokesman said.
He emphasized that “we are consulting with our allies and partners on what the response should be right now.” “And I'm not going to predict what that response is going to be, because it's appropriate that we have those conversations with our allies and partners,” Miller said.
“I think it's important to remember that the response to Russia's aggression against Ukraine was not just a United States response. (...) It was a response that we organized on behalf of more than 50 countries, and so we're going to consult with them about what the appropriate response should be, whether it's from the United States, whether it's from other countries, whether it's a joint response, as we did today,” the State Department spokesman emphasized.
“I can tell you that on behalf of the United States, we will continue to support Ukraine. We're going to continue to support them on the battlefield, and we're going to continue to work to preserve the alliance that we have built to support Ukraine, to respond to Russian aggression,” Miller said.
Commenting on the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson's statement that the issue of “sending North Korean troops and the military alliance between North Korea and Russia is something that North Korea and Russia can do as sovereign states, the State Department spokesperson indicated that “we believe that the deepening security partnership between Russia and North Korea - and certainly the deployment of North Korean troops to engage in combat against Ukrainian soldiers - is something that should be of concern to everyone in the region.” “We've raised these issues directly with China, told them that we think this should be their concern, and it's something that they should raise with both countries,” Miller said.
