Ukrainians who suffered sexual violence as a result of the war will receive a one-time reparation of 3,000 euros

The government has approved a mechanism for urgent reparations for victims of sexual violence related to the aggression of the Russian Federation. The one-time payment will be 3,000 euros, and funding will be provided by international partners.

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a mechanism for urgent reparations for persons who have suffered from sexual violence related to Russian aggression. The one-time payment will amount to 3,000 euros. This was reported by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, as conveyed by UNN.

Children born as a result of this crime will also be entitled to such support. Funding will be provided through contributions from international partners and donors. Receiving this payment will not affect a person's right to receive subsidies or other types of state assistance
She noted that a special commission under the Ministry of Social Policy, Family and Unity will be created to consider applications.
The entire process is designed to ensure confidentiality, respect for human dignity, and to avoid re-traumatization
She recalled that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion in Ukraine, the Office of the Prosecutor General has recorded 398 cases of sexual violence related to the war - 248 against women and 150 against men. But, according to her, the number of cases may be higher, according to human rights defenders, because victims often remain silent about these crimes due to the risk of condemnation and stigma.

In Ukraine, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, 401 cases of sexual violence against civilian Ukrainians have been recorded, with 250 women and 151 men affected, including 23 underage girls and one boy; 116 Russian military personnel have been notified of suspicion, and there are 19 verdicts against 26 individuals.
