Ukrainian judoka Mykhailo Svidrak won a gold medal at the European Cup in Croatia. He defeated Azerbaijani Karim Allahverdiyev and other rivals.

Judoka Mykhailo Svidrak, a native of Prykarpattia, managed to win a gold medal at the European Cup in Dubrovnik, Croatia.

More than 400 athletes - judokas from 39 European countries, including seven Ukrainians, took part in the competition. The winner of the tournament in the weight category up to 81 kg was 24-year-old Svidrak - he defeated Azerbaijani Karim Allahverdiyev and reached the final. This happened on the second day of the competition: before that, he defeated rivals from the Czech Republic, Italy and Slovenia.
Judoka Mykhailo Svidrak opened his account for awards at international starts in the new competitive season
The next judo competitions will take place at the end of April in Podgorica, Montenegro, as part of the European Championship.
This is not the first award Svidrak has received for his sports activities: in March 2024, he won a bronze medal at the Judo Grand Slam in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. In addition to Svidrak, Ukraine was represented at those competitions by Nazar Viskov, Anton Savytskyi and Yevhen Balievskyi.
