Ukraine launches remote dismissal mechanism via Diia for occupied territories

Ukraine is launching a mechanism for remote termination of employment through Diia for the occupied territories. This was stated by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, as reported by UNN.

Details

According to Svyrydenko, this concerns people whose employers remained in the temporarily occupied territories or in the zone of active hostilities. They are no longer actually working at their previous place, but formally remain employed and therefore cannot officially get a new job.

We are removing this legal trap and giving people the opportunity to continue working. An application for dismissal from work in the temporarily occupied territories can be submitted online — through Diia. The system will automatically record the date of termination of employment, inform the employer, and update the data in state registers

- the Prime Minister announced.

Additionally

Svyrydenko added that the government continues to reboot employment policy as an important component of the state's economic policy.

According to her, the first step is that the government has already approved the draft of a new Labor Code, and the document is being prepared for its first reading. Next are systemic solutions for people and businesses, with the involvement of donors and the private sector.

13.1 million people work in Ukraine — less than half of the entire working-age population. At the same time, 74% of companies have difficulty finding people. Due to the war and migration, the labor market has become a key challenge for the economy, Svyrydenko summarized.
