Ukraine has nothing to shoot down ballistic missiles, we have an acute shortage – adviser to the Minister of Defense

Ukraine is facing an acute shortage of interceptor missiles for Patriot systems, but this problem is global in nature. Due to the unstable security situation, many countries are in no hurry to transfer their stocks, preparing for potential threats. This was stated by the adviser to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Serhiy "Flash" Beskrestnov, reports UNN.

According to him, the biggest problem for Ukraine today remains the lack of missiles to intercept ballistic targets.

For us, a very painful problem is ballistics. We do not have enough missiles to effectively engage ballistic targets. But this problem is not only Ukraine's – now the shortage of Patriot missiles is felt all over the world. We have already contracted a significant number of these missiles for the future period, and we are also asking our NATO partners to temporarily lend us missiles. We are ready to return them

– said Beskrestnov.

Patriot on the brink - does Kyiv have an answer to Russia's record ballistic attacks06.07.26, 18:29 • 4568 views

At the same time, he explained that allies are reluctant to part with their stocks due to the deteriorating security situation in Europe.

Everyone sees that the situation in the world remains unstable. There are statements about possible threats to Poland or the Baltic countries. That is why many states are trying to preserve their Patriot stocks, because no one knows what will happen next. Russia remains a very aggressive neighbor, and this is a threat to all countries that share a border with it. Even Germany talks about the need to prepare for possible future actions by Russia. No one understands what is next in Putin's head

– added the adviser to the Minister of Defense.
