Details
It is noted that sources in several national associations have stated that there are no prospects for the return of Russian teams to European football and to the World Cup. After all, although this tournament is held under the auspices of FIFA, the qualifying competitions for the European Championships are conducted by UEFA.
Many of the largest Western European associations and federations, including England, Germany and France, remain resolutely opposed to the return of russia
It is noted that three years ago, UEFA was forced to abandon plans to return Russian football teams to youth tournaments due to negative reactions from association members. Additionally, UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin will be up for re-election next year, so he is "unlikely to risk alienating a significant portion of his electorate."
