Two Red Cross paramedics injured in mine explosion in southern Lebanon

Two Lebanese Red Cross paramedics were injured as a result of a mine explosion in southern Lebanon. The incident occurred during the search for a missing person in a mined area of Zawtar.
Two paramedics from the Lebanese Red Cross were injured and an ambulance was damaged as a result of a mine explosion on Tuesday in southern Lebanon, reports UNN citing CNN.
Emergency services coordinated with authorities to ensure safe access to the eastern area of Zawtar and were assisting in the search for a missing person when the explosion occurred.
The Lebanese Red Cross stated that it is coordinating with the Lebanese army and other authorities to secure the area, which was littered with mines and "remnants of war," to ensure the safe evacuation of paramedics from the area.
The Israeli military said it had heard about the incident and is investigating it.
The explosion occurred as Israel began withdrawing its troops from parts of southern Lebanon under a US-brokered agreement, paving the way for the Lebanese army.
