In the Oval Office, a reporter asked Donald Trump to elaborate on his claim that Iran "will have to pay for this."
"Well, we're going to hit them, hit them very hard," the president says.
The reporter asks him to clarify if this means a resumption of bombings.
"Yeah, well, based on the helicopter, I think we have the right to do that," Trump says.
Context
Earlier, Trump accused Iran of using a drone to shoot down an Apache helicopter off the coast of Oman.
"We hit them hard yesterday, and we're going to hit them hard again today — in case you missed it, in case you didn't turn on your television."
Earlier, Trump stated that it would be foolish to announce attacks before carrying them out.
