The US urged its citizens not to travel to Russia or to seek shelter due to UAV attacks

The United States has issued recommendations for its citizens not to travel to Russia or to seek shelter due to UAV attacks. This was stated in a message from the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Consular Affairs, reports UNN.

Details

According to the Bureau, attacks and explosions involving UAVs have occurred near the border with Ukraine, as well as in major Russian cities, including Moscow, Kazan, and Saint Petersburg. In an emergency, citizens should follow the instructions of local Russian authorities and seek shelter.

U.S. citizens are again strongly advised to refrain from traveling to Russia

As a reminder

On the night of June 18, 2026, units of the Defense Forces in the Moscow region of the Russian Federation repeatedly struck the Moscow Oil Refinery. This was clearly a response to the strike, in particular, on the Dormition Cathedral of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, which Russia carried out during a massive attack on Kyiv on June 15.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed the strikes on the Moscow refinery and in the Rostov region. Footage has appeared online showing Ukrainian FP-1 drones, manufactured by the Ukrainian company Fire Point, over the Russian capital, which the "Pantsir" system unsuccessfully attempted to shoot down. This is the second strike on the Moscow refinery.
