The US has set a time for Russia to respond about its readiness for peace - Rubio

America has determined the time it wants to hear from Russia about its readiness for peace. Congress has already begun working on a bill to strengthen sanctions. This was stated by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio during a briefing, reports UNN.

The only way the war will end is through negotiations. Both sides are compromising. We will not talk about this compromise now, because these compromises and concessions will depend on the conditions of Ukraine and Russia. We have to work to achieve the wall

- said Rubio.

The Secretary of State stressed that the United States is not currently interested in negotiations about negotiations and they will not continue to do so.

We have a certain amount of time that we will wait, we want to see during this time whether they (the Russians - ed.) are ready for peace or not. The time is already approaching. Congress has already started working on a bill to strengthen sanctions and pressure from Capitol Hill will increase. All these factors have been explained... We hope that we will send our message to Moscow and that Moscow will be ready for peace

- Rubio said.

Context

Rubio said that Ukrainians have shown their willingness to cease fire and create space for negotiations. Therefore, the US must know whether Russia is ready for peace, and Russian dictator Vladimir Putin must make this decision.

Rubio also stressed that if Russia has a tactic of waiting and delaying, the US will not be interested in it, and President Donald Trump will not fall into the trap of endless negotiations.

Addendum

President Volodymyr Zelensky said that America and Russia are talking about a complete ceasefire, because Ukraine has agreed to it, and added that it may be possible to put pressure on Russia to cease fire in the coming weeks or months.

FoxNews journalist Jackie Heinrich reported that US President Donald Trump believes that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is stalling for time, and the administration is looking at the aggressive use of sanctions, including the Russian "shadow fleet".
