The NBU puts into circulation a commemorative coin with the marine drone "Sea Baby"

The National Bank of Ukraine is issuing a coin "Ukrainian Cotton. Marine drone "Sea Baby" with a face value of 5 hryvnias. The circulation is up to 75,000 pieces, sales start on July 30.
The National Bank of Ukraine is putting into circulation a new commemorative coin "Ukrainian Bavovna. Sea Baby Marine Drone", which tells the story of the legendary unmanned surface vessel "Sea Baby", developed by specialists of the Security Service of Ukraine to carry out combat missions in the Black Sea, reports UNN with reference to the NBU.

The new commemorative coin continues the series dedicated to Ukrainian defense technologies and their developers. After all, Ukrainian designers have proven to the whole world: Ukrainian engineering thought is capable of winning and radically changing approaches to warfare.
What does the coin look like?
The coin has a face value of 5 hryvnias.
On its obverse, a stylized trident is depicted, which compositionally continues with the image of the "Sea Baby" marine drone in motion.
On the reverse – the "Sea Baby" marine drone cutting through the waves of the Black Sea. At the top is the logo of the Security Service of Ukraine, which is the developer of this device; below is the inscription SEA BABY, executed in the style of stencil military marking. The letter Y is stylized as the "Victory" gesture, symbolizing victory.

How to purchase the coin?
The commemorative coin "Ukrainian Bavovna. Sea Baby Marine Drone" was put into circulation on July 29, 2026.
Its sale in the online store of numismatic products of the NBU and distributor banks will begin on July 30.
Context
The first samples of "Sea Baby" appeared in 2022 and since then it has become one of the most famous examples of Ukrainian innovations in the field of unmanned technologies.
Thanks to its modular design, the drone can be equipped with various weapons according to the specific mission, ensuring the completion of tasks without risk to the lives of Ukrainian soldiers. It is capable not only of destroying enemy objects with explosives but also of remotely mining, hitting coastal infrastructure, and returning fire against air, surface, or ground strategic targets.
It was "Sea Baby" that arranged an unforgettable "bavovna" on the Crimean Bridge and inflicted damage on a number of Russian warships of the Black Sea Fleet.
