"We are strong. We are together": New commemorative coins dedicated to Mykolaiv and Odesa regions released in Ukraine

The NBU has issued commemorative 10-hryvnia coins in honor of the Mykolaiv and Odesa regions. The mintage of each coin is two million pieces for free circulation.
New commemorative coins from the "We are Strong. We are Together" series, dedicated to the Mykolaiv and Odesa regions, have been put into circulation in Ukraine, UNN reports, citing the NBU.

On June 12, 2026, the National Bank of Ukraine is putting into circulation two new circulating commemorative coins from the thematic series "We are Strong. We are Together," dedicated to the unity of Ukraine and its regions:
- “We are Strong. We are Together. Mykolaiv Region”;
- “We are Strong. We are Together. Odesa Region”.
In the series of circulating commemorative coins "We are Strong. We are Together," we tell the story of Ukraine through its regions and people. Each coin is a mark of respect for the regions and their residents, who strengthen our state through their labor, courage, and dedication. The Mykolaiv and Odesa regions are the southern frontiers of Ukraine, which have become symbols of resilience, strength of spirit, and the struggle for freedom. They are a reliable stronghold that maintains the economic viability of our country and its connection to the world. The new circulating commemorative coins are our expression of gratitude to the residents of the Mykolaiv and Odesa regions for their cohesion and faith in Ukraine. Today, we are minting in metal the resilience of the Ukrainian South and the people who defend, restore, and develop their communities during the most difficult times. About the design
The coins "We are Strong. We are Together. Mykolaiv Region" and "We are Strong. We are Together. Odesa Region" have a denomination of 10 hryvnias and are made of a zinc-based alloy with a nickel coating.
The obverse of both new circulating commemorative coins is identical to the obverse of the 10-hryvnia circulating coin of the 2018 design. In the center, framed by an Old Russian ornament, are the coin's denomination, the year of minting, and the State Coat of Arms of Ukraine.
The main element of the reverse of these coins is a stylized map of Ukraine with clearly defined administrative boundaries and an image of the territory of the regions to which they are dedicated. Specifically, the Mykolaiv region is highlighted on the "We are Strong. We are Together. Mykolaiv Region" coin, and the Odesa region is highlighted on the "We are Strong. We are Together. Odesa Region" coin.
The reverse design of the coins is by Oleksandra Kuchynska; the obverse artist is Volodymyr Demianenko. The sculptor is Volodymyr Demianenko.
About circulation and sales
The circulating commemorative coins "We are Strong. We are Together. Mykolaiv Region" and "We are Strong. We are Together. Odesa Region" are legal tender in Ukraine and are accepted by all individuals and legal entities without any restrictions throughout Ukraine for all types of payments, as well as for crediting to accounts, deposits, letters of credit, and for performing payment transactions at the face value of 10 hryvnias.
The National Bank will gradually issue these circulating commemorative coins to banks and cash-in-transit companies / cash processing companies for further distribution to customers. They will be accepted from customers at the face value of 10 hryvnias.
Gradually, two million pieces of each of these circulating commemorative coins will be introduced into cash circulation.
Part of the mintage of these coins is formed into specially designed rolls. Each roll will contain 25 circulating commemorative coins, with a mintage of 15,000 units each.

Odesa Region" can be purchased at the NBU's online numismatic store, as well as from distributor banks (the list of which is provided on the official website of the National Bank).
