The HACC approved the agreement in the OPZ case, involving former MP Hranovskyi; over UAH 77.5 million will be returned to the state

The defendants in the OPZ case pleaded guilty and will compensate UAH 77.5 million in damages. An additional UAH 50 million will be transferred to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine through UNITED24.

The High Anti-Corruption Court has approved a plea bargain in the case of a corruption scheme at the "Odesa Port Plant." The state will recover 77.5 million UAH in damages, and the accused must transfer an additional 50 million UAH to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was reported by the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, writes UNN.

According to the SAP, the case concerns a 2015 scheme in which the plant's products were sold at prices below market value. The prosecutor's office noted that all defendants, as part of the agreement, fully admitted guilt and agreed to the specified punishment. At the same time, according to information on the HACC website, former People's Deputy Oleksandr Hranovskyi is listed among the suspects in case No. 991/7255/23.

In addition to compensation for damages, the defendants must transfer another 50 million UAH through the UNITED24 platform for the needs of the Ukrainian army.
The court also determined the punishment for the participants in the case. The former People's Deputy of the VIII convocation received a fine, while the former deputy director, former head of the OPZ department, former board member of the plant, and owner of the intermediary company received three years of imprisonment, fines, and a ban on holding certain positions for one year.
Some of the defendants are abroad
The SAP noted that more than 10 years have passed since the crime, and some of the accused are abroad – specifically in Austria and Great Britain. Despite this, as part of the agreement, they refused to close the proceedings and agreed to compensate for the damages caused.

On October 21, 2022, NABU and SAP informed former People's Deputy Oleksandr Hranovskyi about suspicion in the OPZ case. He was declared wanted. On December 7 of the same year, the HACC заочно took Hranovskyi into custody.
Later, the court allowed an in absentia investigation against former People's Deputy Hranovskyi.
