The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has identified the Russian unit that struck the ATB supermarket in Chernihiv with a jet-powered drone on July 26. This was reported by UNN citing the GUR.

According to Ukrainian intelligence, the strike on the civilian object was carried out by servicemen of combat group No. 3 of the separate unmanned aviation brigade "GROM "kaskad", which is part of the Russian Aerospace Forces.

The intelligence agency noted that the jet drone "Geran-4", equipped with a video camera, was launched from a drone port in the settlement of Navlya, Bryansk region. The identification of the direct perpetrators of the attack and others involved in the war crime is ongoing.

According to the GUR, the "GROM kaskad" brigade specializes in strikes with long-range drones, particularly against civilian infrastructure in Ukraine. The intelligence agency also noted that this unit is staffed by representatives of the so-called "elite" caste of the Russian Federation – officials, deputies, and other office holders who sign short-term contracts and receive the status of war participants without being directly in the combat zone.

The GUR recalled that last year they already published data on the commander of the "GROM kaskad" brigade – ruslan niehrub.

Rescuers completed operations after the strike. As a result, two people died, including a 9-year-old girl, and 25 people were injured.
