The Cabinet of ministers redirected more than UAH 268 million for free hot meals for Primary School students. For 2024, the budget provides for UAH 2.9 billion for food and UAH 960 million for the modernization of food halls.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has redirected more than UAH 268 million to provide free hot meals for Primary School students.

This was stated by Prime Minister Denis Shmygal, reports UNN.

More than UAH 268 million was allocated to provide free hot meals for Primary School students. Earlier, UAH 2 billion was allocated to local authorities. next year, the state budget provided UAH 2.9 billion for school meals and another UAH 960 million for the modernization of food stores

Shmygol said that students of all classes in the government will look for opportunities and resources to complete the task of providing free meals.

Government representative in Parliament Taras Melnychuk in Telegram noted that in 2024 the amount of subventions from the state budget was redistributed to local budgets to provide food for Primary School students.

In addition, the prime minister said that within the framework of "Winter support", the government is improving the payment mechanism of the emalyatko program.

Shmygal said.

According to him, in 2024, about 36 thousand families have already received baby boxes, and for 126 thousand families, the state recalculated the cost  of the "baby package" in the amount of UAH 974 million.
