The Speaker closed the Verkhovna Rada meeting after the podium was blocked by deputies. The reason was the consideration of the law on the responsibility of government officials for ignoring calls to the Rada.

Verkhovna Rada Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk closed the parliament session after a group of deputies began blocking the rostrum. According to People's Deputy Oleksiy Honcharenko, this happened after a proposal was made to support the initiative that government officials should be held responsible for refusing to report to the Verkhovna Rada when they are summoned, reports UNN.

Details

"In order not to consider that government officials should go to the Verkhovna Rada, the parliament session was closed," - reported Honcharenko.

The People's Deputy noted that the people's deputies demanded to consider the law that government officials will be held responsible if they do not appear on a summons to the Verkhovna Rada.

"We demanded to consider the law of the Speaker himself, so that if government officials do not want to come to the Rada at the call of deputies, there will be responsibility. We are tired of having our feet wiped on the Rada," the People's Deputy said.

Honcharenko added that although the work of the Verkhovna Rada is over for today, the deputies are in no hurry to leave.

"Well, the meeting is closed, the work is coming to an end. The deputies are not leaving, they want to work more, but the work is over," Honcharenko said.

Addition

On Friday, the Verkhovna Rada is expecting the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sybiha with a report.  Deputies did not support the proposal to summon Shmyhal and Svyrydenko to discuss the details of the resource agreement. The coalition argued its refusal by saying that "it is very difficult for government officials now".
