Sibiga also briefed Matsuda Kuninori on Ukraine's urgent need to strengthen its defense to protect civilians and infrastructure, as well as the need to support the energy sector.

The diplomats focused on preparations for the Peace Summit in Switzerland and Japan's support for the Ukrainian peace formula.

The parties also noted the high dynamics of Ukrainian-Japanese contacts, in particular the substantive nature of the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Ukraine and Japan within the framework of the G7 Foreign Ministers' meeting.
