Ukraine expects the unblocking of US aid for 2024 and a decision to confiscate Russian assets to help Ukraine, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said on Thursday following a meeting with US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, UNN reports.
We hope that the United States will continue to stand with Ukraine in our struggle. That assistance to our country for 2024 will be unblocked, including direct financial support

The Prime Minister pointed out that since the beginning of the full-scale war, the United States has committed almost $45 billion in defense spending. "We have received 55 military support packages. About $22.9 billion in grants. We appreciate it very much," the head of the Ukrainian government said.
Ukraine is grateful for the leadership of the United States in consultations with the G7 countries on the confiscation of frozen Russian assets. We expect that the Congress will pass a law and give the U.S. government the authority to confiscate them to help Ukraine
According to him, Yellen also talked about "the need to strengthen sanctions". "I also informed about the reforms we are implementing on our way to joining the EU and NATO," the Prime Minister said.
"We are ready to deepen our bilateral cooperation aimed at winning this war and establishing a just peace for Ukraine and for Europe," Shmyhal said.
