Servicemen in AWOL status can independently choose a new unit to return to via "Army+"

Military personnel who went AWOL (absent without leave) before June 12, 2026, can return to service under a simplified procedure and independently choose a new unit. The program will be active until September 20, 2026. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, according to UNN.

The ministry noted that the new mechanism does not involve routing through reserve battalions. A request can be submitted via the "Army+" application.

In the application, service members can choose a new unit from a list of over 50 available units, specify their preferred area of service and personal experience, and receive guidance until the moment of enrollment.

After the request is approved, the status "En route" appears in the system, confirming the voluntary return to service and providing five days to arrive at the new military unit.

In addition to "Army+", an application can be submitted directly to the chosen unit or through the 1st Recruitment Center of the AFU Ground Forces or the 2nd Recruitment Center of the Air Assault Forces.

Currently, the program is available for service members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the State Special Transport Service. For National Guard fighters, the option to submit a request via "Army+" is planned to be launched in the near future.

The Ministry of Defense emphasized that the program will be active for 100 days – until September 20, 2026, inclusive.
