Russia will not agree to a "freezing" of military operations in Ukraine without eliminating what Moscow calls the "root causes" of the war, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin told Russian media, UNN writes.

"As Russian President Vladimir Putin has said repeatedly, no 'freeze' is possible without eliminating the causes of this crisis," Galuzin said.

In addition, Galuzin criticized the United States' actions regarding Ukraine, calling them "contradictory."

"The ongoing deliveries of American weapons, the provision of intelligence and other assistance—which do not align with a desire for peace—speak for themselves," Galuzin said.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that freezing the conflict was allegedly impossible because of Ukraine's position. Russia insists on achieving its own objectives in the war.
